  • Perfectly located just by Steep Hill (but before it gets too steep!) right by lots of cafes, pubs, shops and the Cathedral. It's in a very quiet spot despite being in the near everything. We loved the cottage, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Would absolutely recommend!

  • Beautiful cottage, situated in a superb location for exploring both uphill (Bailgate) and downhill (Central) Lincoln.   • This is just the perfect bolt-hole in Lincoln - halfway between the buzzy lower town and the castle/cathedral area of upper town. Stuart is an extremely attentive and helpful host, with clear directions, instructions and recommendations, and a speedy response to any questions. 4 Danes Cottages is extremely comfortable and cosy, with clean decor and homely touches. And it was absolutely spotless - the cleanest place I have ever stayed!

  • A truly beautiful cottage in a great location. We had such a relaxing break here and especially enjoyed the location close to the most beautiful historic area of Lincoln. The house is very comfortable and we loved coffee on the south facing patio. Highly recommend.

  • A great cottage for 2 couples centrally located for all sites within the centre of Lincoln. A peaceful rear garden with a seating area where you wouldn't know you were in the centre of town. We would certainly go back and both couples have recommended it to our respective adults children.

  • Spent a wonderful few days here while visiting Lincoln for a gig at the Castle. Felt right at home immediately - everything was clean, tidy and beautifully decorated. There were three of us and had plenty of space.Lots of time in the garden between sightseeing so it was great to have such a peaceful outdoor space to relax in as the weather was really hot. I would stay here again.

  • What an incredible stay we had at Stuart's place! Stuart was so responsive with his messages and clear instructions. It really was the most perfect location! So much to do on your doorstep yet its very peaceful and tranquil at the cottage.   • Ive stayed in Lincoln a few times after studying there. This is the perfect place to stay. The location is great- part way up Steep Hill. If you want to soak uo old Lincoln then this is the best Location. The property itself was stylish and immaculate. It had all necessary amenities. Our host, Stuart was proactive and responsive. We would stay here again and gladly recommend to others.

  • Just WOW! I would absolutely recommend Stuart's house in Lincoln. It's so central, It's just fabulous. Half way up Steep Hill and close to the shops, restaurants, Castle and Cathedral. The house is gorgeous and was perfect for us. Everything was spotless and decorated to a vey high standard. Bathroom and Kitchen are lovely, modern, fresh. Linens are lovely and the house was warm when we arrived, which added to the cosy feel.I'll definitely return when I come back to Lincoln. Five stars. 100 % recommend.

  • A perfect place too stay in a fantastic location. It couldn't have been in a better place for visiting the Castle, Cathedral, Steep Hill and Shops. The cottage was beautiful inside with high end furnishings. Everything looked brand new and it was really cosy and comfortable.   • Luxurious is the right word for this gorgeous cottage. It has everything needed for convenience and comfort and the extra touched were very nice. The garden is a charming addition. The cottage is very cute and the location is halfway up steep hill and is perfect for access to all of Lincoln's attractions.It is' however very quiet at night- we hd an idyllic weekend and we hope to be back again soon.

  • Stuart's cottage is perfectly located very close to the historic Cathedral quarter of Lincoln. The cottage is attractively furnished and thoughtfully equipped and has a real "home from home" feel. Parking is included and we had no problems finding a space nearby. The cottage is highly recommended and we would definitely stay here again.

  • We had a lovely stay in this beautiful cottage. It is very clean, comfortable, homely and equipped with everything you need. The cottage is located in the heart of the old town Lincoln, just a few minutes walk from all the attractions. Despite the central location the cottage is private and quiet with a pretty garden where you can sit and enjoy the sunshine. Stuart is an excellent host, proactively providing clear and helpful instructions. We highly recommend this property.

  • Th best part of the stay was the location. It was literally a few buildings away from the action of Steep Hill, the Castle and Cathedral. The cottage was clean quiet, comfortable and the garden was stunning - quintessential English Garden. We had a wonderful time and Lincoln was out favourite City in England. We highly recommend it.

  • Stuart is an amazing host. Danes Cottage is a truly lovely place to stay. The location for all the sights to see in Lincoln is perfect, right next to the 'Steep Hill'.
    The cottage is cosy and warm; spotless and has everything (and more) you need for a relaxing stay. The garden has a lovely view of the Cathedral and will be a lovely spot to sit out in warmer weather. We shall be back to stay again without hesitation.

  • Had a wonderful weekend in Lincoln made even better by the beautiful cosy cottage. Stuart met us on arrival and made sure we were comfortable. The cottage had absolutely everything we needed as well as some lovely personal touches of various teas, coffee biscuits and chocolates. The cottage is in an amazing location close to Steep Hill and all the amenities and has the addition of a beautiful back garden. Absolutely recommend this place - you won't be disappointed.

  • What a wonderful cottage! Exactly how it looks and described, Stuart was extremely helpful, meeting us at check in and giving us a quick brief of the cottage and the nearby parking. The cottage was spotless as was everything else. All equipment clean and everything you need for a lovely stay. Comfy beds, nice and quiet even though you are only a short walk up to the restaurants and bars around the Castle and Cathedral. Will definitely be back to Lincoln and absolutely stay here again.

The settings is ideal for a Lincoln centre break, so close to the Cathedral and all the independent gift shops and only a short walk to the City Centre.   • The Cottage is so central, parking round the corners very easy, It's immaculate and modern inside and yet retains the feel of the very old building with its stairs and fireplace. Stuart has thought of everything and is very helpful. We loved being on the doorstep of the castle and cathedral and a few minutes from everything the centre has to offer and yet is so quiet at night - perfect combination. Recommend!

(which can be seen from the seating in the garden) The cottage was beautifully presented and perfectly clean. We had breakfast on the patio overlooking a vert well maintained garden. So peaceful and private. We could not fault this idyllic home.

  • This cottage is beautiful, exactly as it looks in the pictures. It was spotlessly clean, and is set up with everything you could ever need. Stuart is a great host, check in was easy, and parking is in a little car park around the corner from the cottage, which Stuart provided the parking pass for. The cottage is in an excellent location for everything Lincoln has to offer. You will not be disappointed!

Stuart is an amazing host, very attentive, professional, flexible and friendly.   • We loved our stay at Stuart's cottage, every last detail had been thought of to make our stay as comfortable as possible. It has been renovated to a very high standard and the decor is modern whilst still feeling cosy and homely. Great beds, bedding and shower, and everything you could ask for in the kitchen. We loved the welcome snacks and provision of tea, coffee and milk on arrival, also the extra toiletries in the bathroom drawer. Very informative guest book in the cottage was really useful with lots of recommendations for eating out and sightseeing. Check in was made very easy with Stuart meeting us on arrival, we really appreciated his help in parking up and making the most of our first day in Lincoln. Stuart responded to any messages straight away before and during our stay, couldn't ask for a better host. We wished we had booked a longer stay and hope to be back soon.

  • We have stayed in nearly 40 Airbnbs and Danes Cottage is one of the best we have stayed in. It is an extremely well renovated cottage, thoughtfully decorated with excellent attention to detail. Its listing doesn't do it justice. The cottage is very well situated in the old part of Lincoln and all the tourist areas are just a short walk away (either up or down Steep Hill). The listing is accurate, Stuart's communication is good and always prompt. We highly recommend the cottage and look forward to visiting again.

  • It is a delightful cottage close to the Cathedral, Christmas market & Castle. An ideal location to visit all of the above on foot. We were able to park our cars nearby for the duration of our stay. We wanted for nothing during our visit as the cottage is well equipped with quality products throughout. It has been tastefully decorated, with a little bit of festive lighting added too for the season. The beds are comfortable & there is a large walk-in shower with plenty of hot water. We would highly recommend this as a place to stay. Stuart was great with communication & was there to welcome our party on arrival.

  • We just returned from a two night stay at Stuart's beautiful cottage , which is in the perfect location to explore and enjoy all Lincoln has to offer.
    Stuart was there to meet us when we arrived, gave us the parking permits and showed us how everything worked.
    The cottage is tastefully furnished with everything and more that we needed during our stay. It's in an ideal location for everything, also very peaceful and quiet. We had glorious, sunny weather the whole time we were there even though it was November. I would imagine it would be even more enjoyable in the Spring / Summer as the cottage has a beautiful south facing garden, from which you can see the Cathedral.
    Lincoln is a beautiful, historic city to visit. Stuart's cottage is the perfect place to stay and we can highly recommend it.

  • Stuarts place is right in the middle of Lincoln, along a cobbled street just down the hill from the cathedral and castle. It's been thoughtfully and stylishly converted to a 2 bedroom cottage with kitchen / dining area, a comfortable cosy living room and a modern bathroom.   • Stuart has just opened this fantastic grade 2 listed cottage, in the perfect location for exploring historic lincoln, and we were his first guests. The cottage is stunning, very tastefully presented, immaculately clean, loads of little creative touches to make our stay special. The cottage is ideal for four people, very comfortable, very stylish, and in the heart of the city, yards from steep hill,and ideal for exploring, shopping and easy access to the many bars and restaurants. A cute little garden to sit outside, if the weather's good, as it was for us. A handy car park just round the corner with a day pass provided. It doesn't get any better than this. Without doubt the best airbnb accommodation I've ever had the pleasure of living in. And this will quickly become very popular. Stuart is a lovely guy, very attentive and proactive host, who couldn't do enough to make our stay really enjoyable. Can't reccomend highly enough.
